Getting Ready

Only 40 more days until the adventure begins. The route is undergoing a revision after learning that our first route was fast and we had two weeks of time that we could utilize. This allows us to stay more days in certain spots (Boston, Nova Scotia, Yellowstone, etc). It looks like the official time away from home will be about 4 days shy of 4 months. For those of you into statistics, we have estimated consumption of 2700-3100 gallons of fuel at 8 miles per gallon for a total trip of 20 to 25 thousand miles. The first month consists of Hershey Park (PA), New York City, Plymouth (MA), Boston, Bar Harbor (Maine), Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Montreal, The Adirondacks, Niagra Falls, Detroit, Indianapolis, St. Louis, and Kansas City. Of course there are many stops inbetween such as a small town in Nova Scotia that has the largest tidal change in the world (as much as 53 feet from low to high tide). Our biggest challenge is figuring out how to get everything we need into an RV. Imagine living in a travelling house about the size of your kitchen for four months....with less cabinet space!
